The Corona Collection

Beautiful but Deadly

8 pm

At eight o’clock we took our stand
We clapped and cheered loud,
We came together all as one
To show them we are proud.
Proud to show we care a lot
About the people who give their all.
From the surgeon down to the one,
Who mops and cleans the ward.
For the ones who drive the ambulance
The ones who answers all the calls
From the bottom to the very top
We are “Thankful for you all.”
To each and every one of you
To the nurse who gives her best.
Their commitment to the poorly
Helps put our minds to rest.
May those that are in charge of it
Remember who answered the call.
Pay them not in handclaps
But their worth in weight in gold!

Protect

The Cabinet is shaky
Bits are slightly falling off!
And it all gravely started
With a fever and a cough.
This awful dreaded monster
Has no politics or no style.
It is coming for us...
Keep your distance by a mile!
This monster likes to spread and grow
As it travels far and wide.
It is coming for us...
Keep NO-ONE by your side!
It’s attacking every nation
The well known and our old folk.
It is coming for us...
This is certainly no joke!
Let’s protect our brilliant front line
Our precious “Angels of the blue”
It is coming for us..
So I am staying safe indoors...
Are you?

Sorry

Today’s little ditty has an edge to it
As I am peeved with stupid folk!
The ones who are not listening
Treating this threat as one big joke!
Going out not thinking
Not keeping to the rules.
For don’t they know we are in danger
The silly selfish fools!
Anxiety is at a level
That could make Jesus curse and swear.
The stupid selfish idiots....
just don’t seem to care!
Well I hope it doesn’t hurt them
Or a loved one they adore.
For I am frightened for my family
So I will say it more and more.
STAY IN you stupid people!
STAY IN for heavens sake!
STAY IN and save the NHS!
Don’t make us pay for your mistake!
Sorry if this isn’t funny
But I’m angry and I’m afraid.
To think I could loose a loved one
From mistakes I have not made!

Being Prepared

I am prepared - I think - I hope so - Oh Dear

I’m feeling very frightened

I’m feeling very scared.
But I think I have it covered
I think I am prepared.
I’ve tins of chopped tomatoes,
Irish stew, corned beef and ham.
Tins of soup and baked beans,
Spaghetti hoops, sweet corn and Spam.
Toilet rolls a plenty,
Ready for the blitz!
For if I eat all of that tin stuff
I’m sure to have the sh*ts!
